Ethics statement

In street photography, it is not generally possible to get the subjects’ consent—even, sometimes, after the photograph is taken. I only create photographs where the subjects are not identifiable, where I believe they would find the photograph satisfying, or, generally, both.

I don’t believe that these restrictions are appropriate for all photography or even all street photography, but I believe that taking photographs of people in circumstances of personal difficulty requires more artistry, more training, or greater positive consequences—for example, when used in some journalistic contexts—than my work.
